I don't have ADHD, but I have attention issues due to PTSD. You make a good point about digital clutter. I recently moved out of state which required me to do major declutter. However, I still have to unpack some clutter I inevitably brought with me. Lol. The declutter thing never seems to end. I had this vision of scanning all the paperwork. That never happened. I'm not sure what's even worth scanning. The thought of scanning and organizing my computer makes my brain want to FREEZE or explode. 🤯 I cannot even imagine. It’s enough to settle into my new home. I just want some peace and quiet. Technology never seems to create that feeling. I'm still working on that relationship.
I completely get this (and amazingly enough, this is NOT the first time I've heard of ADHD and PTSD being compared as similar with the attention problems).
I cover digital clutter in The Simplified Year too! I'm working on getting all the posts up over there for the year (they were originally elsewhere and I'm moving them here. It's a process but they'll all be there soon!).
AND the declutter thing doesn't really end, you're right. But there is such a thing as maintenance mode - that's where I'm at! That freeze response fades and the constant overwhelm disappears. It comes in layers for most people, since most people have other things to do than JUST declutter through everything in one go! It took me several years.
